School America
Additional Info
School America was a program created by the Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta INC.
This program was to get children into reading and reading activities. It was a community based program where members and other volunteers would go to the Macon Branch Library in Bedstuy Brooklyn and invite children who were there to participate in our activities. The activities consisted of a reading of book, sometimes associated with a holiday or special occasion. After the reading to the children there would be a related activity. After the activity we would give the students a healthy snack and the would get to choose a book or two that was donated to the program.
