I believe that learning is not just about grades but also about personal growth and the ability to adapt to new situations.

I am grateful for the opportunities that education has provided me and am committed to using my skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in the world. Arts

  • Music Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar
  • Theater Fine Arts
  • Awards Music has taught me discipline and patience, as mastering a new song takes time and effort. It has also given me confidence, as I have performed in front of friends and family, sharing the joy that music brings me. These experiences have shaped who I am and have motivated me to pursue my goals with dedication and passion.
  • Additional Info My name is Keira Greene, and I am a high school junior with a passion for music, particularly playing the guitar. I have been playing guitar for three years, and it has become a significant part of my life. Music has always been a way for me to express myself, and learning to play the guitar has opened up a whole new world of creativity and joy.

When I first picked up the guitar, I was drawn to the sounds of iconic bands like Nirvana and Deftones. Their music spoke to me, and I was determined to learn how to play their songs. Over time, I have taught myself how to play some of their most popular tracks, such as "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana and "Change (In the House of Flies)&quot; by Deftones. These songs have not only helped me improve my skills but also deepened my appreciation for the artistry involved in music.

In addition to these bands, I have also learned to play other classic songs like "Sweet Child o' Mine&quot; by Guns N' Roses and "Blackbird&quot; by The Beatles. Each song presents its own challenges and rewards, and mastering them has been incredibly fulfilling. Playing the guitar allows me to unwind and express emotions that are sometimes hard to put into words.

Interestingly, I have learned that certain decibels of music can actually have healing effects on the body. This fascinating connection between music and health has inspired me to pursue a career in healthcare. I am particularly interested in how music therapy can be used to promote healing and well-being. Understanding the impact of music on the body and mind has strengthened my desire to study medicine and help others in a meaningful way.

As I look towards the future, I am excited to continue my education and explore my interests in medicine. I believe that the skills and lessons I have learned through playing the guitar will serve me well in my studies and future career. I am eager to attend a university where I can further develop my talents and make a positive impact in the world.

Bench pressing 75 pounds might not seem like much to some, but it represents my commitment to pushing my limits and improving myself every day.

Balancing academics and sports has been challenging, but it has also been incredibly rewarding. Maintaining a 4.0 GPA while engaging in these activities has taught me how to manage my time effectively and prioritize my responsibilities. • Employment History I started working at Starbucks as a barista, and I have been there for about three to four months now. This job has been my first real employment experience, and it has taught me so much about responsibility, teamwork, and customer service. Working at Starbucks has been a great way for me to learn how to manage my time effectively, especially as I balance my job with maintaining a 4.0 GPA in school.

One of the things I love about working at Starbucks is the opportunity to connect with different people every day. It is a fast-paced environment, and I have learned how to stay calm and focused even during the busiest times. I have also developed better communication skills by interacting with customers and working with my team to ensure that everyone gets their orders quickly and accurately.
  • Awards Although I have not received any formal awards yet, I am proud of the small victories I achieve at work, like when a customer leaves with a smile or when my manager compliments my efficiency during a rush. These moments motivate me to keep improving and striving for excellence, both at work and in my academic pursuits.

Working at Starbucks has also reinforced my desire to work in a field where I can help people and make a positive impact in their lives. I believe that the skills I am developing now will serve me well in the future, especially as I work towards becoming a healthcare professional.

  • History Throughout my high school years, I have actively participated in various community service projects. One of the most meaningful experiences I have had was volunteering at a local health clinic, where I assisted with organizing health fairs and educational workshops. These events aimed to provide essential health information and resources to underserved communities. Volunteering at the clinic not only strengthened my desire to pursue a career in medicine but also taught me the importance of empathy and cultural sensitivity, especially given my own Asian and Hispanic heritage.

In addition to my work at the health clinic, I have also volunteered at a local food bank, where I helped sort and distribute food to families in need. This experience opened my eyes to the struggles many people face in accessing basic necessities. It reinforced my belief that everyone deserves access to healthcare and nutritious food, which fuels my ambition to become a doctor who advocates for health equity.
  • Additional Info Academically, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA, and I am committed to pursuing a pre-med major at the University of Texas Austin, Baylor College of Medicine, or the University of Texas Health Science Center. I am eager to further my education and gain the skills necessary to make a positive impact in the medical field.

Receiving the MyMozaic Monthly Scholarship would be an incredible opportunity for me to continue my education without financial burden. It would allow me to focus on my studies and community service efforts, ultimately bringing me closer to my goal of becoming a compassionate and dedicated physician.
