I conducted in-depth research to better understand the nuances of the cultural impact and spread of Tuberculosis in the Inkil community of Nigeria. After collecting preliminary data from surveys, I created a community workshop that was distributed throughout communities in Bauchi (a state in Nigeria) to provide community members with greater knowledge and resources about symptoms of Tuberculosis, how to treat it, how to stop it, and how to social distance from infected people.

Additionally, I have also helped a small business owner re-design their shop's logos and guided them on how to best advertise to attract the attention of potential customers. I learned about her company's history and what groups of people it serves and collaborated with her to slowly expand her business.

Also, I volunteered my time to be a Virginia Department of Health Youth Advisory Council Executive Board Member. In this position, I helped shed light on issues plaguing youth today in Virginia through student input and surveys. Using data, I offered solutions and tips to help youth. We have covered topics such as the mental health epidemic in high school students. To address this, I created posters and social media campaigns for mental health resources.

Ever since June 2023, I have been Undersecretary-General of Crisis Simulations, which means that I manage all details regarding crisis chairs and crisis staffers. Every week, I spend about two hours working and planning for our school's conference and training the chairs on procedures. I and the other 5 members of the secretariat oversee the conference held at my school. We manage the logistics of the conference such as finances, food, people, and inventory together as a shared responsibility. I am also responsible for creating difficult and engaging crisis situations that delegates must quickly adapt to.

One hour every week since October 2023, I lead the Forensics club meetings. As president of the Forensics Public Speaking Club, I organized and advertised the club and led meetings. I created posters and flyers for club day to draw attention to the club, set up meetings, and chose nuanced meeting topics. I also managed details regarding future competitions, signed up for forensics tournaments, and engaged in freeform debates. I picked topics with more than one side to them, even if they are delicate subjects, to allow the team members to gain confidence in taking a stance on a topic.

We meet about once every two weeks and I have managed it since May 2023. As an officer of CSHS, I met with the officer team to discuss ways to improve the Godwin CSHS enrollment and membership. I suggested that we ask all the computer science teachers to advertise the club and also suggested asking the principal to announce it in her emails. I created presentations for our meetings involving coding problems and also scholarship opportunities, not just in computer science, but also for other fields for our seniors. Helped struggling members with coding and managed meetings.

For two hours a week for a total of 100 hours, I conducted a self-proposed research project titled: The Effect of Various Essential Oils on the Growth of Saccharomyces Cerevisiae (baker's yeast). The intention behind the project was to help those with antibiotic-resistant infections using natural remedies. If the experiment proved to be successful, doctors may be able to prescribe these essential oils to help combat these drug-resistant infections alongside traditional antibiotics. I composed a 15-page research paper on my findings and ran statistical analyses on the results. I submitted this paper to the VJAS competition and was accepted.

I interned at a dentist. I learned common dental procedures such as root canals, crown prep, crown installation, bridges, dental implants, cleanings, and dentures and watched as they were performed. Set up rooms for appointments and cleaned them with proper aseptic technique afterward. Comforted patients during appointments and explained dental procedures to them. Answered any questions that patients may have about their appointments. Used suction during minor operations and assisted with 3D scanner software.
