Education History
I recently graduated from high school in the year 1994. I took a few college courses while attending Los Angeles Southwest college OurTimeduring the years 94 and 95. I also attended Los Angeles City college during the years of 95 and 96. after working a job for 18 years with Los Angeles unified School district as a special education assistant I recently resigned in pursuit of completion of higher education. I began my first semester at Long Beach City college last year and have maintained a 4.0 so far.
Awards
During the month of May of this past spring semester of 2019, I received the Myrtle Byrd Memorial Scholarship for academic achievement. Also within the same month I was invited and inducted into the Kappa Phi Theta Honorary Society for students who have a GPA of 3.6 or higher.
Additional Info
I believe my studies in sociology will better equip me in this pursuit. My main purpose and goal is to ultimately provide a stable source of advocacy for the "special needs" communities through out Los Angeles County and abroad.
Employment History
In 1994 during my senior year in high school I worked part-time as a waiter in a soul food restaurant. I did this while taking a course here and there at Los Angeles Southwest college whenever deciding on a centralized course of study. in 1997 I began an entry-level job as a special education assistant substitute for the Los Angeles unified School district. There I remained for the following 20 years during which time I was able to work at dozens of schools and special ed centers throughout Los Angeles County which students on every level of education ranging from preschool to adult aged.
Awards
While working at Benjamin Banneker special education center from the year 2006 through 2012. I received several certificates of recognition. Particularly for my production and assistance in directing many of the musical programs, plays and productions that we would often put on for our students' "entertaining education"; Department.
