WCC's non-elective curriculum includes an Experiential Leadership Program, teaching students to become capable leaders and active followers through study of leadership theory in the classroom and implementation of these theories on rigorous, student-led outdoor trips. These trips begin with a three-week backpacking course at the beginning of freshman year, and after this at least one week-long trip per semester is required.
