Education History
I will have attended Midland Christian School for eight years in the Spring, and will have taken fifteen hours of college courses (Dual-Credit Speech and Dual-Credit English) by graduation. I have taken all honors courses with the exception of one, though my reasoning for that non-honors course was so that I might participate in a Water Project which gave me the opportunity to give clean water to those in Svay Leu, Cambodia. Before joining the Midland Christian student body, I went to Armstrong Elementary in Dallas, Texas, and loved it there as well. I hope to continue my education at Texas A&M University (in their Mays Business School with a Spanish minor) and then with a Masters degree in Industrial Psychology. Though I am young and these aspirations are bound to change, my desire for a higher education will not move.
Awards
Member of National Society of High School Scholars; Top of class in Science, English, Bible, Spanish, and History during high school; Recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution award in eighth grade; Member of National Honor Society.
Additional Info
I am proud to be currently ranked fifth in my class of ninety five students, and have worked very hard for that position. If I keep my grades up, I am to excel to the third place ranking, right behind the salutatorian, by the end of senior year.
Also, though our courses are not AP courses, the honors courses are definitely comparable. The science and math courses are especially strenuous and do not have many full classes because of the work and effort they require.
Lastly, I am the proud co-president of Spanish Club this year and enjoy practicing the language often because of the Spanish minor I seek to have in college.
Awards
Quarter-finaled in Duet Acting at the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions; Quarter-finaled in Humorous Interpretation for Texas Forensic Association State; Qualified for TFA State in Original Oratory
Additional Info
One of my favorite hobbies is calligraphy. I have conducted many fundraisers through which I would sell calligraphy and water color cards to people, and I enjoy practicing the art in my free time.
I spent an entire semester working with a class on the set of one of our musicals entitled "High School Musical", which ranged from sawing boards (which was quite interesting to learn) to painting stairwells.
As an actress, I participated in the earlier spring musical at Midland Christian entitled "Cinderella." I also competed in NSDA (the National Speech and Debate Association) for three years and excelled to the National and State competition levels, going so far as quarter-finals at NIETOC Nationals my sophomore year. My events I held were Original Oratory (a researched, ten-minute speech one writes, memorizes, and competes with), Humorous Interpretation (a cut, ten-minute play script performed by one person by playing every character), Impromptu (a speech that is given with little to no preparation in the span of seven minutes), and Duet Acting.
Lastly, as a singer, I lead worship at least once a month for the Praise Team at my school and assist in my youth group at church. Music is quite an awesome passion of mine!

Employment History
I worked for a year and a half for about eleven hours a week as an After School Care teacher for the first and third grades at my school. After that job, I worked as a nanny a couple of days each week for two students at my school. I am currently an after school nanny for a different family and will hold that job until the end of the school year, working about eleven hours a week.
Additional Info
The reason I have not achieved many awards or held many jobs that fit my interests is because either those employment opportunities are not available in the small town (Midland, Texas) where I live, or because I am not of age to have them or need a college education to have them.
Community Service
History
I have served two-hundred and sixty-two hours with Unlock Ministries; two-hundred hours as a counselor at Camp Barnabas (a camp in Missouri where those with special-needs can enjoy a real God-centered camp experience); four hours at a food-packing event at Golf Course Road Church of Christ; five hours at Mission Agape (an organization intended to reach the unreachable in Midland and provide them with food and other necessities); five hours rehabilitating the Doug Russell Pool in town; and four hours working at an organization called Oleum in Spain while I was there with my school.
Additional Info
I am a close family friend of the owners of Unlock Ministries in Midland, Texas, and have received the privilege to work with them over the past few years. I first worked with their Fun Academy, a summer school of sorts that keeps underprivileged kids occupied and learning and reading while their parents are at work. At Fun Academy I had the opportunity to teach Zumba and game classes and hold reading groups to get them excited about reading during the summer months. Secondly, I served as a counselor at Op Camp, a camp for many of those same underprivileged kids, and hope to do so again this coming year. Lastly, I participated in Op Champs (an every Tuesday night Op Camp kid meet-up) and assisted them in the office in the weeks leading up to camp. Their organization is very special to my family and me.
