  • Education History I graduated from Auburn Riverside High School in Washington state in June of 2019 and graduated with an Associate's degree at Green River Community College in Winter of 2019. In high school I loved taking part in leadership opportunities. I was involved in my school's leadership club and also participated in the cheerleading team for a season. Participating in the Running-Start program offered by my school was one of the best decisions I made in my high school career as it allowed me to seek individuality and explore new courses that weren't offered at my high school.

Arts

  • Dance Pilates, Yoga
  • Visual Arts Cinema/Film, Desktop Publishing, Painting
  • Additional Info I'm extremely passionate about health and wellness. I struggled with self-esteem issues growing up that ultimately resulted in the development of an eating disorder that took over my life. Having to support myself during my senior year and care for my mother who was struggling with a drug addiction only intensified my stress levels. It wasn't until I found yoga that I was able to connect and feel true compassion for myself. Taking care of others has always been important to me and for years has even taken priority over my own well-being. Yoga has helped me develop a healthy relationship with myself that now allows me to give care to others as well as myself. I'm just one month away from completing my 200-hour yoga teacher training and have been teaching yoga online to share my passion with others. Through my teaching, I hope to bring others that same level of self-compassion that I was able to find through yoga. I'd love to have the opportunity to expand my knowledge of nutrition and wellness through furthering college education so that I can reach and help even more people.

Athletics

  • Sport(s) Cheerleading
  • Additional Info Although my cheerleading journey didn't last long, I do feel that I learned valuable lessons of teamwork, hard work, and dedication that I've been able to incorporate into several different aspects of my life. Though my family's financial and internal struggles took priority during my high school experience, I definitely feel that the community and support I experienced in joining my school's cheer team was extremely valuable and am so grateful to have had access to the opportunity.

Professional

  • Professional Interests Health/Fitness, Healthcare, Internet, Marketing, Media/News/Publishing, Nursing, Photography
  • Employment History I've worked for a variety of employers. Having experience working in several food service positions, a retail store, a machine shop, as a house cleaner, and at a couple of yoga studios has really allowed me to realize the type of work that I'm passionate about. Through my experiences, I've realized that I have the same primary driving goal: assisting others. I've found that in positions with fewer interactions with others, I feel a sense of dissatisfaction. Helping people find solutions or assisting them in finding what works best for them is so fulfilling to me. Teaching yoga has, by far, been the most gratifying work that I've done. I care so deeply about sharing with others, whether it be knowledge, services, or simply being there for them. I'd love to expand my own knowledge and understanding of health and wellness through education so that I may help bridge the gaps in our society created by financial barriers and social injustices that keep so many people from feeling their absolute best. I want to learn, not just for myself, but for the sake of providing for those who aren't as fortunate as me. Everyone deserves to feel healthy, strong and confident and helping others find these feelings within themselves has been and continues to be the driving force of growth in my life.
  • Additional Info Aside from paid work that I do, I also enjoy sharing free yoga classes online through my social media platforms such as Instagram and YouTube. Although the videos and content that I produce take hours of work to complete with no pay, I prioritize this work because I'm passionate about sharing healing practices with everyone, no matter their income. I believe that everyone should have equal access to good health and I feel that providing these free services is the least I can do to support those who may not have access to these resources otherwise.

Community Service

  • History I volunteered at Auburn MultiCare for a little over 100 hours. Through my experience, I was able to become comfortable in a hospital setting and was further inspired to seek out a career in health and wellness. I loved being able to help, witness and encourage the growth and progress of patients. This work felt extremely fulfilling and I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to help out at this hospital.
